Job Description:
The Director reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success and has supervisory responsibility for all Institutional Research functions. The Director is responsible for the leadership and development of comprehensive institutional research programs to support the College mission and strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in setting directions for the office of Institutional Research as well as providing hands-on data analysis, interpretation of analysis, and preparation of reports for both internal and external use and distribution. The Director will gather, integrate, and analyze data to support strategic planning, policy-making, resource allocations, enrollment projections, and other processes requiring sound strategic analysis. The Director will conduct extensive survey research; using on-line and paper surveys, created both in-house and externally, and will keep up-to-date on best research and analysis practices. The Director will work closely with college Assessment, using statistical analysis, data and survey research to support outcome measurement in college efforts to improve student learning and educational program outcomes, and course, curricular and program improvement. The Director will also be responsible for the preservation of survey and other IR developed data for use by the institution in studies of university policies and operation, as well as suggesting to administration and departments ways in which survey research can be used as part of the decision-making process. He or she will be responsible for developing and coordinating the submission of data to external organizations (e.g. SUNY), analyzing data received from such organizations, and presenting the implications to the College and suggesting responses when appropriate. The salary range is competitive and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Requirements:
The Director will have a Master degree (Doctorate preferred) in an appropriate academic discipline and will have at least 5 years of relevant experience in a higher education management/leadership role, in particular leading a multi-staff office. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with collecting and analyzing data in a higher education environment, sound knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and statistics, outstanding writing and presentation skills, logical, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while attending to multiple projects simultaneously. Experience and knowledge of the Banner software system preferred.
